Paihia Beach Resort & Spa Hotel, Paihia

I had high hopes for this hotel, especially with the rate I paid, but I was left very disappointed. The facilities need a major overhaul, and the service didn't match what I'd expect for the price. The location is decent with access to attractions, but considering what we shelled out, the overall experience didn't justify the expense.

Overall, we had a pleasant stay in the 2-bedroom apartment-style rooms that were clean and tidy. While the kitchen was a bit lacking in cooking utensils, which is a bit of a hassle when you have kids, the amenities covered our basic needs. The parking situation could be improved, as it operates on a first-come, first-served basis. Still, the views and proximity to local attractions made the experience enjoyable.

Our stay in Paihia was a mixed bag. The hotel's location is fantastic, just across the road from the beach and within walking distance to the town center. The pool area is lovely, but we encountered quite a few issues with our room and service. The dining experience was enjoyable, though the first day's service left much to be desired. Overall, while there are some great aspects, it didn't fully meet our expectations.
